Last year the spring sports teams had some dominating performances. The Boys Lacrosse team, Girl Lacrosse, and Boys Baseball team all made it to their respective Division II state championship games, but none of the teams walked away with the championship.
With the spring season right around the corner, the captains of each team are already thinking about what it will take to bring their teams back to championship games.
The Girl Lacrosse team won 17 of their 20 games last season before losing in the final round to Walpole. When asked if they will win it all this year, Girls Lacrosse captain, Quinn Donahue (’26) responded, “I think there is a chance. I just think we’d have to put in a lot more work and learn from our mistakes from last year.” Donahue is joined by co-captains and fellow seniors Shea Cullen, Addie Matthews, and Emma Nelson.

Girls Lacrosse isn’t the only team reflecting on last season. “We were very successful last year. We went to the state championship and lost by 1 in a heartbreaker,” said Boys Baseball captain Nick Vitarisi (’26), “We have some big changes this year, mostly to the pitching staff, but I’m confident in the guys filling those roles.” Vitarisi and co-captain Issac Robinson (’26) were both members of the Boys Baseball team that won more than 20 games last season.
Nick Casarano (’26), one of the Boys Lacrosse captains, shares Vitarisi’s confidence. Casarano said, “I’m really excited, and I think that the team is gonna play well together, and we’re gonna make a big run to the state title.” The other Boys Lacrosse team captains include seniors Luke Johnson and Ethan Dispena.

Spring sports tryouts start on Monday March 16th. Girls Lacrosse starts the season hosting Burlington on April 2nd. The Boys Lacrosse team hits the road to start their season on April 4th in Burlington, and the Boys Baseball team will also travel to Burlington for their season opener on April 6th.
