The RMHS Boys Lacrosse captains discussed the team’s anticipation to get back on the field as the spring sports season comes closer.

The Boys Varsity Lacrosse team had an amazing season last spring with an undefeated in-league record. They accumulated only one loss against Concord-Carlisle in a non-league game. The returning players and hopeful underclassmen have spent the past few months training for the Spring 2022 season. As March 21st rolls around the corner, the lacrosse team is ready to get back on the field for another astounding season.

I’m looking forward to going for a good season and trying to get to the State Championship this year.

— Nicky Palermo ('22)

Captain Nicky Palermo(‘22) explained the conditions and composure of the team as they prepare for the season. He stated, “We have a lot of injuries going into the season so we plan on getting the underclassmen ready for the upcoming season and trying to get them good enough to play.”

Senior Captain JP Sullivan(‘22) revealed another obstacle that the team will be facing this upcoming spring. Sullivan said, “We lost a lot of seniors last season. A lot of the younger guys will have to step up this year, but I think with our hard work, we’ll be good.”

Evident from their outstanding record last season, the RMHS Boys Varsity Lacrosse team is eager and determined to have another undefeated season. Senior Captain Palermo expressed, “I’m looking forward to going for a good season and trying to get to the State Championship this year.”

“I’m looking forward to not having to wear a mask when I play and being able to use the locker rooms again because we couldn’t last year,” Sullivan said. Along with the hours the team spends on the turf, the Boys Varsity Lacrosse team is also looking forward to smaller aspects of the season that were restricted from their last season due to Covid-19 restrictions.
